Khal Shariff is the founder and CEO of the award-winning Project Whitecard Inc. (established in 2007).
He is the creative lead and signatory on two Space Act Agreements with NASA, a TEDx speaker, and a winner of grants in Education from both the MacArthur Foundation and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Khal Shariff's experience in both educational applications in collaboration with NASA, Canadian Space Agency,and leading a virtual reality driving simulation project to education teams last year put's Project Whitecard Digital's "Juniper Beach" initiative in good hands.
Curtis was hired from the class of 2015 University of Winnipeg Serious Games Certificate Program and is a technology specialist in the use of Unity game technologies and VR with a focus on the HTC Vive.
He was lead developer on “DRiVR-X,” a public driver-awareness program.
Greg Loader has been involved in the information technology sector for 27 years. He has specialized in telecommunications with the startup of his own interconnect company in the early 90’s and worked with SHL, MCI and EDS.
He assisted Manitoba Hydro in the development of a new business unit focused on the commercialization of Manitoba Hydro’s excess fibre optic capacity where he now manages business development for Manitoba Hydro Telecom developing the Ethernet, Internet and Data Centre services.
Greg attended the University of Manitoba- BA,1984 and Red River College- Business, 1982.
He is Khal’s mentor, spending much time with Khal developing the business plan.
Mark received his PhD in 1988 from the University of Manitoba and was a member of the faculty in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Manitoba from 1984-1997. He founded EISI in 1990 and went on to build the company into the largest supplier of financial planning software in the world, selling it in 2011. Mark was selected as the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Technology in Western Canada in 2003.
Mark is the Past Chair of the Board of the Children’s Hospital Foundation and Mark is also a member of the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation Board.
Paul Thiessen was Chief Architect and one of the founders of EISI. He was with the company for over 20 years before he retired in 2012. Paul implemented the original user interface, graphing and reporting capabilities of EISI’s NaviPlan financial planning software, and developed the long-term strategic plan for extending and enhancing NaviPlan’s technical architecture.
Before joining EISI, Paul was Director of Research and Development at Chartersoft Corporation where he managed the software development team in the design and implementation of a presentation graphics package. Before this, Paul operated his own company which developed educational mathematics software.
Eric Welwood was hired at Project Whitecard after an internship at Electronic Arts where he developed tools for Mass Effect Andromeda.
He was a lead programmer on “DRiVR-X,” a VR driver-awareness program for Manitoba Public Insurance. He is lead programmer on “DoVille.”
Eric graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Manitoba.
